Odd incentive structure

Between life at Apple and working on my thesis, today was my first full day off since last September. It took a sick day. Runny nose, constant coughing, and muscle aches aside, it was pretty nice. Sarah (whom I infected) and I watched a bunch of NCIS from season 1—we're amazed at how strong the show was from the beginning. (NCIS quickly became my favorite current show after Sarah introduced me to it around season 3/4.) And now we're watching the Olympics, which I always find so much more engaging than I expect. I'm just sad NBC isn't putting any curling on primetime. (We don't have cable.)

I suppose the take-home message shouldn't be that sick days are fun but instead that any of my weekends could be like this once I finish my thesis.
