travel note

Our whirlwind trip to visit my family exhausted us, but I'm glad we made the time for it. I saw some relatives for the first time in a long time, and Sarah met some of my family for the first time ever. This set includes my niece, Jessica, who celebrated her first birthday! I'm in love with my niece. Perhaps I'm simply projecting, but she already seems like a sweet kid. I can't wait to see her grow up.

The next day, we met my parents, grandmother, and Uncle Tom in Chinatown for dim sum. Sarah and I had wondered what we would eat, but then my mother mentioned the Vegetarian Dim Sum House two doors down from our usual restaurant on Pell Street. Dad and I were amazed that we been oblivious to it all this time, but I guess now I know where I got my inattention to detail (which I prefer to call my focus on the big picture and on underlying principles).
